Product description:Erucic acid has few direct uses. It is mainly used as an intermediate of fine chemicals to prepare various surfactants, lubricants, plasticizers, emulsifiers, softeners, waterproof agents, detergents, etc. Its derivative erucic acid amide ([112-84-5]) is a lubricant for plastics; Erucic acid is hydrogenated into docosanoic acid and further processed into mountain acid, which is used on ships to prevent salt water corrosion and algae from adhering to the hull.
