It can also be used as a rust inhibitor and nickel removing agent for electroplating in ships. Sodium m-nitrobenzene sulfonate is used as a dye repellent for vat dyes and sulfide dyes and a color forming protective agent for dyes. It is also an intermediate for dyes and vanillin in ships.
