Application
Used as an intermediate for promethazine and mesanto. It is also used as a stabilizer for acrylonitrile polymers. Chlorination of 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol with thionyl chloride can give 2-chloro-1-dimethylaminopropane hydrochloride [584-49-0].
